Citi announced on Tuesday that it has been chosen as the preferred credit card of American Airlines Center, as well as the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and NHL’s Dallas Stars, providing exclusive discounts and offers.
“We are always looking for new ways to deliver memorable experiences for our customers with the venues and talent that appeal to them most in sports and entertainment,” Jennifer Breithaupt, the senior vice president of entertainment marketing at Citi, said. “American Airlines Center is recognized as one of the premier venues in the country, and we believe this partnership will help further raise visibility and preference for Citi in this important market.”
The Citi/AAdvantage card will be featured in North lobby signage, as well as at courtside, point of sale and LED signage. The card offers special benefits, including game pre-sales, discounted concessions and preferred pricing on select merchandise.
“The Dallas Mavericks organization is pleased to be part of Citi’s unique program to enhance the fan experience by offering exclusive opportunities for their customers,” George Killebrew, the executive vice president of the Dallas Mavericks, said. “The Mavericks vision is to continuously keep the fan experiences the best in the NBA and we believe this is another prime example of that forward thinking.”
Since opening in 2011, American Airlines Center has hosted some of the world’s top musicians and performers. Last year, it was ranked among the top three U.S. venues and in the top 14 in the world based on annual ticket sales.
“We are extremely honored and excited to be partnering with Citi based on their history of extending great benefits and access to fans,” Dallas Stars CRO Brad Alberts said. “This partnership exemplifies our continuous efforts to provide best-in-class services to both our fans and corporate clients in North Texas.”
