American Express and TripAdvisor launched on Tuesday an integration that allows cardmembers in Australia, the U.K. and U.S. to connect their American Express cards with TripAdvisor profiles, allowing users to post reviews and access exclusive offers and hotspot lists.
TripAdvisor users will see an “Amex Traveler” badge after a cardmember links their eligible card with their TripAdvisor account. The integration leverages AmEx’s Spend Graph consumer spending data, showing trends in dining, travel and entertainment.
“American Express Card Members are active and passionate travelers and diners, and their experiences and reviews are well-informed and powerful,” Leslie Berland, the senior vice president of digital partnerships and development at AmEx, said. “This partnership with TripAdvisor – the world’s largest travel community – represents the intersection of technology, data, community and commerce to add relevant context to our Card Members’ reviews.”
After a cardmember connects their AmEx to their TripAdvisor account, they unlock three new offerings which can be accessed directly to their AmEx cardmember hub. Each time a user leaves a review at a location where they used their AmEx card, the user will receive a badge.
Additionally, linked cardmembers have access to exclusive lists of restaurants and trending data in select cities. Lists are compiled by leveraging AmEx Spend Graph data, and cardmembers also have access to exclusive savings like coupons.
