Discover was recently recognized by InformationWeek as one of America’s top technology innovators for providing consumers with convenience and choice through its flexible cash rewards program.
The company was ranked 77 on the top-500 list, which is presented annually and recognizes companies that use innovative technology to transform their businesses.
“The theme of this year’s InformationWeek 500 is digital business,” InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief Rob Preston said. “It’s a movement, rooted in data analytics, mobile computing, social networking and other customer-focused technologies that are turning companies and industries on their ear. Every enterprise is now a digital business — or needs to become one fast. The companies in our ranking are leading the way.”
Discover’s new platform allows customers to use some, none or all of their Cashback Bonus or Miles Rewards to pay for online purchases at select merchants.
“With an increase in consumers shopping online, it was important for Discover to quickly respond to this trend and provide an innovative solution for our customers and merchant partners,” Discover CIO Glenn Schneider said. “The creation of this new platform is another example of our technology team working with our business to deliver game-changing solutions to achieve business goals.”
